Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has commented on Governor Mike Sonko's abusive remarks that he made during Madaraka Day celebrations at Pumwani Police Grounds on Saturday.
Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke, she pleaded with him for his approval to implement projects in Nairobi that she had been seeking for four weeks now.
Sonko had stated during his speech that the woman rep needed not to call his phone numerous times because they we're not married to each other.
She later that evening she hinted that the tension between them was linked to Sonko's reluctance to approve her community projects.
The county MP explained that the National Government Affirmative Action Fund board that manages the kitty allocated to Woman Representatives needed Sonko's nod to fund her projects.
Passaris wondered whether the county boss was intentionally sabotaging her efforts of uplifting the lives of Nairobians by blocking her initiatives.
"I've been running around his office from one person to another to get this letter," she told our reporter.
Passaris regretted that the governor had resulted in insulting her, claiming not to be her husband yet he knew her spouse very well.
"He said that my projects were good because I shared them with him but it is unfortunate that he had to go that low," she added.
