Police in Bomet County have arrested an ex-convict who is alleged to have killed his wife’s two-year-old son just two months after leaving jail.
David Chelule, 40, who served five years at Kamiti Maximum Prison and was released two months ago, hacked the boy to death using a panga at their home in Kaptilolwo Village in Sotik Sub-County.
The mother was not at home during the incident.
Sources told Citizen Digital that the man suspected that the two-year-old boy was born from an extramarital affair while he was in jail.
Sotik Sub-county Deputy Police Commander Francis Ng’ang’a said the body of the two-year-old was found lying in a pool of blood, before being moved to Kapkatet mortuary.
The suspect is detained at Sotik Police Station pending arraignment.
