A member of Nyandarua County Assembly has sued former Starehe MP, Maina Kamanda,over child support.
In an application filed under a certificate of urgency, MCA Esther Wanjiku wants the court to compel Kamanda to pay for her one-year-old child's maintenance.
According to Wanjiku, who filed the suit on behalf of the child she bore with Kamanda, the amount would cater for basic needs required for the upbringing of the fruit of their labour.
Among other necessities, the nominated MCA wants the vocal MP with an inclination to the Kieleweke faction of Jubilee to pay Sh 70,000 rent, utility bill of Sh 35,000, food of Sh 30,000 and milk and fruits worth Sh 10,000 every month.
Through her lawyer PK Njiiri,Wanjiku accused the seasoned politician of neglecting his parental obligations despite being a man of means and a prominent businessman thus wants their child to grow up in similar conditions to that of the father.
Kamanda, 76, impregnated the lady in 2013 when he was campaigning for Jubilee Party in Nyandarua County.
