A class one pupil in Nyaguku village, Nyamira County has been accused of killing his classmate by injecting him with a poisonous injection.
His classmate, Brian Nyangaresi was rushed to Nyamira Level Five Hospital where he was confirmed dead on Friday evening.
Speaking to The Star, Magombo area chief, Nyakundi Obae, admitted that it was not clear where the pupil obtained the poisonous injection that killed Brian.
Government authorities in the area are investigating the incident and are yet to confirm the contents of the injection.
“We have not yet established what was contained in the injection but we will come up with a full report after a thorough check has been carried on the body of the deceased,” confirmed Obae.
However, hearsay has it that the injection contained acaricide, which is a pesticide used to kill mites but confirmation is yet to be made.
He went ahead to call on Nyaguku residents and relatives of the deceased to remain calm as investigations were being carried out.
The frightened boy was arrested on Friday and ferried to Magombo AP post for safety reasons.
Agitated residents are anxiously waiting for feedback from the authorities to determine the next course of action concerning the minor.
This incident comes as a shock as cases of minors involved in murder cases are quite extraordinary in the country.
