Pwani University student stabbed by ex-boyfriend sheds light on breakup, says assailant refused to move on

TUKO.co.ke.

A Pwani University student who was stabbed multiple times by her ex-boyfriend has revealed what transpired on the fateful morning of Sunday, April 14.

Naomi Chepkemboi who is receiving treatment at Kilifi County Referral Hospital told reporters from her bed her ex-lover Nicholas Koech had a phone conversation with her dad before he fished out a knife.

“I was forced to text my neighbour Ochieng who had my extra key and told him to come and open my door, but at that period, Koech called my dad and after a short time, he removed a knife and stabbed me in my back,” she said on Tuesday, April 16.

According to the Third Year student, their relationship had become irreparable and they parted ways in 2018 even though they got a child together whom she claimed the suspect has never supported.

On that particular day, the jilted lover came at her house at around 6am and knocked her door with hope of reconciling but that was never to be.

Noami said she stepped out out of the house while listening to her attacker who told her he had come to settle score over their relationship issues.

He then entered her house and locked it from inside with a padlock as she tried to get her keys back to open but all in vain.

“I told him a have moved on after the break up, I think he did not accept it, so may be that could be the reason why he traveled all the way from Nairobi to Kilifi just to come and stab me, what I need now is justice,” she stated.

“I did not allow him in my house, we talked outside the house and after the conversation was over, I went inside my house, while thinking he also left, but that was not the case,” she added.

The accused was produced at a Kilifi law court on Monday, April 15, but did not take plea as police requested for eight days to conclude their investigations.
