JB Masanduku has been making headlines this past month after stories concerning his new fiancee’ began to emanate.
For those who have been living under a rock, the comedian’s new fiancee’ is called Jackie Kariuki.
The two have been in a relationship for close to one year. In January this year, they had a ruracio’ (traditional marriage ceremony) to further cement their union.
But some eager beavers were curious as to when the two had first started dating, with some blogs speculating that JB might have been cheating on his then-wife, Tina.
This was sparked by a post that his fiancee’ had written on her Instagram page, where she wrote that JB had chased her for 5 years.
We spoke to the entertainer yesterday and he clarified what she meant. His answer concerning this issue is in the story below:
One other thing that he spoke about that amazed us was his stated total commitment to the women he had dated.
He told us this to defend himself from any cheating claims that had arisen.
JB explained:
LET ME BE BRUTALLY HONEST. I PURSUED HER (JACKIE) AFTER TINA (HIS NOW EX-WIFE). THAT WAS 3 YEARS AGO.
That brought up the question of why it had taken so long for him and Jackie to start dating?
He revealed that Jackie did not believe his intentions for her were genuine; that all he wanted was to smash and dash.
JB denied that that was ever the case as he is a “romantic at heart”. He told us that his weakness was that, “when I love I love”.
He also told us that as much as he would have liked to be Team Mafisi, he just couldn’t do it.
He said:
I CAN’T CHEAT, THAT IS THE WEIRDEST THING. YOU GUYS SHOULD DO ME A CHALLENGE. I HAVE NEVER CHEATED! NEVER! NEVER!
So how was he finally able to convince Jackie to give him a chance? JB was persistent, attending numerous karaoke shows that she hosted, always trying to convince her.
He says that she still did not believe that he wanted to date her. Finally, he says, she relented and gave him an opportunity.
Even after giving him this opportunity she still maintained that all he wanted to do was pump and dump her, something that he vehemently refused.
He insisted on telling us:
I AM NOT ABOUT THAT LIFE. ME, I AM LIKE WHEN IT’S FOR REAL, ITS FOREVER.
Let us hope this couple can have a long, glorious marriage.
