Former Gem MP Washington Jakoyo Midiwo has said Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga is out to split the Jubilee party which has disrupted the country's economy.
According to Midiwo, Jubilee is the worst thing that ever happened to Kenyans and it was in Raila's intention to save the nation just like he did when he disrupted KANU to bring change in Kenya.
Speaking on to NTV on Tuesday, March 26, Raila's cousin said Jubilee government took over leadership from Mwai Kibaki when the economy was very stable but since then, it has never stabilised.
"Raila is on that bed to wreck Jubilee because it is the worst thing that has ever happened to Kenyans," said Midiwo.
"Jubilee took a very sound economy from the hands of Kibaki and just like Raila did when he dissolved NDP to join KANU which later became a stepping ground we used to campaign for Mwai Kibaki who gave us that stable economy we wanted, so will he wreck Jubilee," he said.
Prior to 2002 General Election, Raila was the National Development Party leader which he later dissolved and joined KANU under the leadership of former president Daniel Arap Moi.
The political marriage did not last long and things went south when Moi appointed Uhuru Kenyatta to vie for the country's top seat when he was 40-years old.
Unsatisfied with the decision, the former prime minister led a massive exodus from KANU which saw them form the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) which took over leadership from Moi with Mwai Kibaki becoming the president.
Claims of Raila breaking Jubilee party started when Deputy President William Ruto came out boldly accusing the former of taking advantage of the famous handshake to bring confusion in the ruling party.
Ruto said the four times presidential loser had told this colleagues his intention to work with the government was to ensure the ruling party is split up ahead of 2022 politics.
