Opposition leader Raila Odinga has revealed one deal he made with President Uhuru Kenyatta during the March 9 handshake over 2022.
Speaking on Thursday morning in an Interview with Milele FM Breakfast hosts Alex and Jalas, Odinga said that they agreed not to talk about 2022 politics.
He went on to say that their deal was to unite Kenyans and to correct the injustices that occurred before they had the golden handshake.
Raila noted that he did not know if he would still be alive and the last thing he wanted to hear or talk about was 2022 politics.
“I don’t want to hear about 2022. We agreed with Uhuru we will not talk about 2022. We said we wanted to unite Kenyans and correct the injustices that occurred before the handshake. I don’t even know if I will be alive. I don’t want to talk about 2022,” said Raila Odinga.
His response came after comedian Jalang’o asked the African Union High Commissioner for Infrastructure Development if he would still vie for presidency in 2022.
2022
The issue of Odinga vying for presidency for the fifth time has sent jitters across the political divide, as the Opposition Chief has not declared if he will be in the ballot or not.
There is also uncertainty over whether President Uhuru Kenyatta will support him or Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.
