Kenyan Gospel singer Kambua has blasted Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa after his claims that no single Kenyan had died of hunger.
The singer expressed her disappointment with how the CS went to lie on national television that no Kenyans were dying from hunger.
“A whole CS will get on National TV and deny that people are dying of hunger? Mnatubeba aje lakini?” she wrote on Twitter.
Kambua’s words came after CS Wamalwa while appearing Citizen TV on Tuesday evening rubbished reports that 11 Kenyans had died from hunger.
The CS insisted that they had not received any reports that directly linked the deaths to hunger.
“As of tonight, there is no death that has been verified as a direct cause of the drought,” said Eugene Wamalwa on Citizen TV’s Newsnight.
DP Ruto
Wamalwa’s words were echoed by Deputy President William Ruto who said no one had died from the drought.
Speaking on Wednesday in Mombasa during the opening of the Inter Professional Summit, Dr. Ruto stated that the information that came from a former chief that a person had died from starvation was not true.
The DP also revealed that the former chief had been arrested for questioning for peddling lies in connection to the drought.
