A 31-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to stealing underwear from her host among other items.
Caroline Wambui Kamau was charged with stealing clothes and other stuff valued at Sh50, 000 belonging to Grace Murugi on March 16 within Njiru sub-County.
It is reported that the accused had been hired by the complainant as a house help.
Police stated that on the said day, the accused was left alone
— but later in the day the complainant received a call from a neighbour alerting her that Wambui had been seen leaving with a huge luggage.
When Murugi arrived home, she found out the accused has left with, among other stuff, her seven inner pants,14 dresses, three Muslim outfits, six lady pairs of jean trousers, 13 blouses, eight shirts, four pairs of bras, seven skirts a hand bag and a traveling bag. She then reported the matter to police who traced Wambui all the way to kikopey on Nakuru Nairobi Highway.
Police stated that accused later travelled back to Nairobi where she was arrested in possession of a few of the items. Wambui pleaded guilty in court but the magistrate order that her probation report be delivered in court on April 10.
