The family of slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno has opened up on the "funny" visitors they've been receiving after their daughter's death.
Sharon's mother said that unknown people have been visiting them and they suspected that the visitors were preying on them thinking they had been given money.
Missing Money
“We wish to tell Kenyans that we do not have any money with us and those visiting us with ill motives should stop,” Ms Melinda Auma stated.
She further added that some con people had already made away with over Ksh40,000.
The family addressed the struggle that they were faced with after taking the responsibility to raise the three children Sharon left behind.
Ghastly death
Ms Melida Auma and Douglas Otieno, Sharon’s parents, stated that they are worried that their daughter’s ghastly death could just be forgotten so easily.
According to Nation Newspaper, Ms Auma developed high blood pressure which was attributed to the pain of losing her firstborn child.
Mr Otieno stated that he sometimes wakes up at 4am to visit his daughter's grave since the death has left him puzzled.
Suspects
Migori Governor Okoth Obado was charged with the murder and released on a Ksh5 million bail by the High Court.
Sharon was seven months pregnant and the government pathologist confirmed that the foetus died after the mother was stabbed eight times.
