Ron Ng’eno, man in Riverside terrorist attack who tweeted goodbye message to family rescued




Ronald Ng’eno, one of the victims of the 14 Riverside complex terror attack and who sent a “goodbye message” to his family should he die in the attack was finally rescued early Wednesday morning after more than 10 hours.
Mr Ng’eno, who updated the harrowing situation inside one of the buildings that the terrorists had laid siege updated his Twitter feed at 5:22am saying;
“Dear all thank you for your support. I am now out and at home with my family. Thanks to the brave   for risking their lives to save others.”

Ng’eno, was among the first people to paint a picture of what was happening at the DustIt hotel complex at a time when it was just a rumour about what exactly was happening.

The communications consultant hid inside a bathroom and update his Twitter feed two hours later saying they were still trapped with sounds of gunshots all around them.
There was information that Ng’eno had been rescued a few hours later but that was deemed fake when he tweeted to dispel those rumours;
Hearts sank when the still trapped Ng’eno tweeted to say his phone battery was low and reminding everyone to “please pray.”

Mr. Ng’eno was among the more than 50 people who were rescued overnight even as security forces continued to battle the four terrorists into Wednesday morning, 10 hours after the siege started.
