Mama Ida Odinga on Friday morning shared a touching tribute to commemorate the fourth anniversary of her firstborn son's death.
Mama Ida remembered her son as "a loving son, a protective brother, a doting father and a loyal friend."
She went on to admit that her life had been hit hard by his death and she is yet to get over the pain of losing him.
"Today is always painful because once more it is a reminder that life is sometimes rough, although we were blessed with years with you, our time together will never be enough.
"For you were someone special who was thought so highly of and we will always remember you with affection, warmth and love," Mama Ida's post read in part.
Black January for the Odingas
The month of January is a sad one for the Odinga's as they also lost their patriarch Oginga Odinga on January 20, 1994.
The family holds commemoration services for both Fidel and his grandfather from time to time.
Fidel died on the morning of January 4, 2015 in his Karen home after a night out with friends.
He left behind his now 6-year-old son and Eritrean wife Lwam Gatachew Bekele.
