There were at least five celebrities at DusitD2 Hotel when it was ambushed by Al Shabab assailants. Gospel singer Willy Paul were among first people who escaped with their lives when explosions went off.
Eric Omondi is really really lucky to be alive, the comedian was shot at by the terrorists but luckily the bullet missed him. He had just picked a parcel at Red House office at Hanover building when the indiscriminate shooting started.
“I was to be the third person to be shot, I don’t know how I escaped the bullet. It is just God. I just started hearing gunshots, and then started seeing people running away raising their hands up and some were entering the bank to hide for their lives,” said Eric Omondi in an interview with the Star.
Churchill ‘Daniel Ndambuki’ was also at DusitD2 at the time of the terror attack. It seems the comedy king is still traumatized by the experience, he hasn’t spoken much about the incident.
Football journalist James Oduor popularly known as ‘Odu Cobra’ was also at DusitD2 hotel, he was among many people who took to social media to tweet after being trapped inside the complex.
Unfortunately Odu Cobra didn’t make it out alive, he was killed by the assailants. Several celebrities have taken to social media to mourn Odu’s death.
