The Director of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communication in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi has explained why Jacque Maribe has filed a suit against Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji.
In a twitter thread, Mr Itumbi stated that Maribe had been denied access to her house since being released despite court orders granting her access.
According to Itumbi, Ms Maribe was pushed to file the suit after the prosecution failed to provide the latter with her car and house keys which was contrary to court orders.
The prosecution also failed to giver Maribe her mobile phones and sim-cards.

“My friend Jacque Maribe is back in court tomorrow. Very sad that the prosecution has yet to provide her with witness statements or even access to her house to pick her clothes and those of her son. That is despite clear court orders last month," read Itumbi’s Tweet.
Maribe's Application
In her application through Lawyer, Katwa Kigen, Maribe sued the DPP and DCI boss George Kinoti, for failing to surrender valuables that include, her phone, sim-cards and memory cards.
“Punishment(s) be meted out to the contemnors for their imprisonment for a period of up to six months and or a fine of Sh200,000 or otherwise as the court may deem fit, just and fair for the integrity of the court proceeding…” reads a section of Maribe's application.

The Citizen TV journalist, who is out on bail, also wants the lead prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki disqualified from the case over her failure to submit any written documents to her defence team ahead of the hearing.
Maribe wants the court to award her “monetary compensation for delay to hand over the house as the court may deem just and fair.”
On October 30th, Maribe was freed on a Sh2 million Bond or a cash bail of Sh1 million after spending more than four weeks behind bars, over the murder of Monica Kimani.
Her fiancé Joseph (Jowie) Irungu was denied bail by Justice James Wakiaga.
