Migori Governor Okoth Obado was overcome by emotions during an interview with reporters from The Standard on Friday.
Obado, who is being charged with the murder of Sharon Otieno told the journalists: “This is how it is now. And I have accepted it.”
They visited him at The Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) where they found his hands cuffed to the frame of the bed, as a guest of the state.

“I have accepted the circumstances I am in and I am willing to deal with them. My spirit is still strong. I will continue to serve my people (of Migori) and I hope this will end soon,” he added.
He thanked his family for being supportive since the onset of the investigations.
Though ill, he was more pained by the tarnishing of his image for what he claims he did not do.
He was admitted at KNH on Wednesday morning after being taken ill at the Industrial Area prison.
The Governor was first admitted to the private wing before he was moved to the General Ward on Thursday.
When asked about the Ksh2.5 billion scandal facing his government, he explained that there was no way such a large amount of money would be misappropriated without stalling county operation.
“It is total madness for someone to imagine and even accept that such money can be taken from a county and it still remains running,” he responded.
