Migori Governor Okoth Obado will appear in court on Friday for his bail hearing in the ongoing Sharon Otieno murder case.
On October 8, Judge Lessit had directed that Obado, Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero be detained at Industrial Area Remand Prison until Friday.
They were charged afresh with two counts of murder after the court allowed the prosecution to amend the charge sheet and include the murder of Sharon Otieno’s baby.
State lawyer Alexander Muteti told the court that life begins at conception, hence, the infant’s life was also cut short during the gruesome murder. The infant has since been buried.
The three pleaded not guilty to the two counts of murder, as the court allowed consolidation of their cases into one.
A post-mortem conducted by government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor revealed that Sharon was stabbed eight times and died from excessive bleeding.
