Horrifying details about Jacque Maribe and her fiance Jowie’s relationship continue to emerge.
The two who have so far been arrested over the murder of Monica Kimani, gave police contradicting statements that raised the eyebrows of the homicide detectives.
According to the Standard, on the fateful day Monica Kimani was killed, Jowie stormed a popular club in Westlands wearing pyjamas and a pair of slippers and he seemed angry.
Apparently, he had been looking for Maribe after killing Monica until about 2:30 am (September 20) when he traced her to the establishment, where she was enjoying some quality time with her friends and colleagues including popular politician and media personalities.
The paper reveals that Jowie tried to make his way to the VIP area but was restricted by security. He was later allowed in after the VIPs left and he and Maribe had a bitter confrontation before leaving.
On Friday (September 21), the couple went out partying at a different club in Kilimani when another fight started. According to witnesses, Maribe and Jowie had a bitter exchange and at one point, she shouted at her lover demanding her car keys and ATM cards.
One of the witnesses said;
THEY LEFT THEIR TABLE AS IF TO TALK OUTSIDE, BUT THEY DID NOT COME BACK.
They drove back home and its there that Jowie tried to commit suicide using a pistol he had borrowed from his neighbour, Brian Kassaine.
After shooting himself, Jowie went to Kassaine’s house asking him to take back his gun which was still Maribe’s house.
Yesterday, Brian was arrested and he spilt tea about the once-upon-a-time glorified social media couple. He told the police how they fought a lot, leaving them the talk of the neighbourhood.
I WENT TO MARIBE’S HOUSE, TOOK MY GUN WHICH HAD 28 BULLETS AND ALSO COLLECTED ONE SPENT CARTRIDGE.
He revealed how they rushed Jowie to Nairobi West hospital but he wasn’t attended to and they drove to Kijabe Hospital and later Lang’ata hospital, where he was admitted until September 24.
They later went to Lang’ata police station to record a statement claiming that Jowie had been shot outside the house by armed three gunmen who later drove off on a motorbike. Maribe then went back to the house to clean the scene of the crime with the help of her house help.
Also, the police learnt that Jowie, who was last seen at Monica’s place dressed in a kanzu used an identity card of Dominic Kamau to gain access to the apartment.
Meanwhile, Maribe and Jowie will custody for close to 10 days as they wait for police to complete their investigations.
