‘I was framed’, MCA says of condolence card sent to KCPE candidates

Kisii County’s Ichuni Ward representative, Gekonge Mireri, has rubbished viral claims that he, on Monday morning, sent a condolence card – instead of a success card – to KCPE candidates at Bogeche Primary School.

Speaking to journalists in Kisii County Tuesday, the MCA said his political opponents “sent the condolence card to the pupils in a bid to tarnish my image”.

Mireri says until the one incident was highlighted, he had sent 29 success cards to 29 different primary schools in the ward, and none of the cards bore a condolence message.

“Cheap propaganda won’t stop me from serving my people. I urge law enforcement agencies to bring to book those who orchestrated the plan to humiliate me,” said the ward rep.
