
On Wednesday, drama was witnessed in Nyandarua County after head teacher of a private school turned up at the County Commissioner's office drunk to pick KCPE exam papers.
According to reports, Peter Kamau Ndegwa the head of South Wales Primary School, showed up at the collection Centre while drunk, prompting police officers present at the Centre to arrest him.
Confirming the arrest, Nyandarua Central Deputy County Commissioner Gideon Oyagi, said that the drunk teacher had been replaced to avoid any delays in exam kick-off.
"We have directed the police to arraign him, that's a professional misconduct," said Mr Oyagi.
The head teacher stormed the Centre shouting at those distributing the papers, demanding to be the first one to collect the papers.
"You need to know people. I am the manager of the learning institution I work for. Stop joking with me," shouted Ndegwa.
On the other hand, President Uhuru Kenyatta paid a surprise visit to pupils of Uhuru Gardens Primary School in Nairobi County ahead of their day two exam kick-off.
During the visit, the head of State had an interactive session with the pupils and discussed their future career goals with them.
President Kenyatta was in the company of Education Cabinet secretary Amina Mohamed and KNEC Chairman Professor George Magoha.
