Jacque Maribe and Joe Irungu appeared in court today for a case to determine when their bail hearings will be heard.
The two sat next together with no apparent animosity between each other, unlike the first meeting where it seemed that Jacque wanted to be as far away from Jowie as possible.
People even commiserated with the T.V anchor as she cried on live television. The last two visits to the dock have however seen a more composed and solemn Jacque.
She is more focused and dresses in bright colours. Meanwhile Jowies demeanor is still the same with him looking unperturbed as the court proceedings continue.
But could there be more happening behind the scenes than meets the eye? Yes, there has been if one is to read the affidavit that was filed by Maribe’s lawyers.
In it Jacque requests to be given bail but was is noteworthy is that she argues it should not be prevented because of her past association with the Joe.
In it, she claims that Joe was her fiance when the Monica Kimani murder happened. The affidavit read:
WITHOUT DOUBT, THE 1ST ACCUSED(JOWIE) WAS MY FIANCE AS AT THEN. IT IS MOST UNFAIR TO USE THE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN ME AND THE 1ST ACCUSED IN THE GIVEN CIRCUMSTANCES OF OUR EXISTING RELATIONSHIP AS A REASON TO WITHHOLD BAIL.
This goes along with what many observers saw the last few weeks with Jacque coming to court without her engagement ring.
This looks like the prime suspects will not be helping each other as the murder case goes on. It is each man for himself.
