Kalonzo was in Uganda for the 4th Graduation of UTAMU University where he was accorded state reception by the Kenyan diplomats and the Ugandan foreign affairs ministry.
The NASA principal who is now working closely with President Uhuru Kenyatta was received by Kenya High Commissioner to Uganda Kiema Kilonzo and the country's foreign affairs minister Sammy Kutesa.
It is the announcement by the former Vice President that did not go well with a number of Kenyans on Twitter after he described the host President as a true believer of a strong East Africa Community (EAC).
"Courtesy call on President Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe where we discussed in depth the issue of a strong East African Community which he truly believes in," Kalonzo wrote on his Twitter.
The announcement did not go well with a number of Kenyans, who felt the leader's proclamation fell short of the reality.
A lawyer reacting to the post stated that it was unrealistic for the Wiper leader to describe Museveni as a "true believer of a strong EAC" yet Kenyans were being subjected to harassment by Ugandan authorities at Migingo Island.
"Your Excellency (referring to Kalonzo) am ashamed and sorry to read your misleading statement. Which East African Community does President Museveni believe in?" reacted the lawyer, further detailing the troubles facing Kenyans living in Migingo.
Another bothered Kenyan user replied saying he was heartbroken by the announcement.
"These courtesy calls now have become vague. How can Kalonzo say that Museveni believes in the East Africa Community! If you have nothing to do, please stay at home and let others visit you instead," reacted one Atundo.
Kalonzo attracted criticism with a number of netizens asking him to reach out to Museveni over the suppression of alternative voices opposing his administration.
